Started at 6, parents raced, wife races, daughters on podium
I started racing motocross bikes in 1991 at the age of 6. At 10 years old I had a Mk2 Ford Escort on a field at home and in 1998 when I turned 12 I started racing Autograss. My first car was a 1000cc British Leyland mini that my parents bought for £200 — it had more body filler in it than steel but that's how I got into it.
My parents raced way before I was born and as I grew up I couldn't wait to get involved. It's a big family sport which people enjoy as families and we are no different.
Back in their day my parents both won British and National championships with my Mum even winning 2 national championships and a British championship racing against the men. My wife also races and has won British and National championships. She understands what it takes to do what we do. It's a massive help to have a family that are all involved.
We have 2 young daughters and there really is no better feeling than picking up a trophy at the end of a hard weekend and being able to take our girls up onto the podium to collect that trophy. Over the years we have made a lot of memories that will last a lifetime and beyond.
The only man to win classes 7, 8, 9 and 10 in both Nationals and British championship level.
